The IIFA Celebrity Cricket Match was played in Colombo on 4th June between the three teams, Sangakkara XI, Hrithik XI and Suniel XI (IIFA team captains, Kumar Sangakkara, Hrithik Roshan and Suniel Shetty) at the SSC grounds in Colombo. Sangakara XI defeated the two cricket teams consisting of Indian celebrities to emerge the winner of the Oscar IIFA Challenge Foundation Charity match held here, as part of the ongoing Videocon International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend.

New Delhi, Thursday 20th May 2010: Cementing its commitment to building bridges between countries, IIFA 2010 will host a special charity cricket spectacular as part of the Videocon IIFA Weekend in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The ‘Cricket for Children’ event, the IIFA Foundation Celebrity Cricket Match, will be played between India’s top cinema stars and Sri Lankan cricketers. “The unique initiatives undertaken by IIFA 2010 will undoubtedly forge a stronger bond between India and the host country,” said the Hon.
